Work continues apace, but the pace has recently accelerated enormously.
Jorge used some of the grant money to buy an autosampler for the HPLC. Sounds boring, but what it actually is is a robot which takes over one of the most tedious and time-consuming tasks I have to deal with. Hooray! A week's worth of injections done automatically overnight with no human input!
Man, the more of my job which can be taken over by robots the happier I will be.

you've got to be careful though, you don't want your entire job to be taken over by robots - then you'll have to do something REAL to make money!
They're a long way from making robots that can do the interesting part of my job, thank goodness.
